CHALLENGE YOUR COLLEAGUES TO LEAVE MS BEHIND
Take on the challenge at work, compete with each other, and help the 33,000 people living with MS across Australia.
The May 50K is an amazing opportunity for organisations or workplaces of any size to take on a fitness challenge. Whether you work at a local café to a big bank, you can set up a workplace team, get moving and help us find a cure for MS.
You can create sub-teams (optional) within your workplace by office location, branch, department or region to enhance some friendly competition between colleagues!
We’ll give you all the resources and all the help you’ll need to make The May 50K everyone’s favourite workplace activity!
MATCHED GIVING
Matched Giving is when your organisation matches every dollar you raise.
When you raise $1 and your organisation matches it, then it becomes $2! The biggest way to boost your efforts this May and double your impact is for your organisation to match the funds that you and your colleagues raise.
Many large organisations offer matched giving to their employees to encourage people to get involved in the community! You might not know if your organisation offers matched giving but you can always ask.
Reach out to your CEO, Employer or the Corporate Social Responsibility Manager in your organisation to match every dollar you raise. We know reaching out may be challenging so we have put together an Email Template to help you. Then pick up the phone, book a meeting or send a follow-up email if you haven’t heard back in a week.
YOUR IMPACT COULD BE LIFE-CHANGING!
Your organisation or workplace's participation in The May 50K will accelerate research into prevention, better treatments and ultimately cures for multiple sclerosis (MS). Here’s how your support changes lives:
$5,104
Covers the cost of sequencing an entire family to determine the genes that influence MS.
$10,454
Pays for one fluorescence microscope so researchers can examine specimens at a cellular level.
$25,000
Provides 'seed' funding that enables researchers to get an innovative new research project off the ground.
GET YOUR WORKPLACE INVOLVED
RECRUITMENT TIPS
1
Let people know! - Put up posters, send out emails and tell people you want them to be involved!
2
Ask your CEO / Senior Leadership Team to register and be an active part of your workplace challenge. - This will encourage more staff to join and have a huge impact on your participation and fundraising!
3
Get competitive! - It’s time to see if the finance team can take on the HR team! Create Sub-Teams within your oganisation to get the competition started!
4
Create incentives for your colleagues to take part – prizes are great motivators. - What about a free lunch for anyone who signs up early, signs up 5 co-workers or raises the most money?
